SDA is the drive where the proxmox installation is running

Open the Proxmox Shell
\nWith fdisk you can find your drives that you want to add, if you are not sure what the device name is for your hard drive that you want to add.<\/p>\n
Type:\u00a0fdisk -l<\/strong><\/p>\n Find the \u201cDisk\" with no valid partition table. That will be probably your hard drive you want to add.<\/p>\n \u201cDisk \/dev\/sdb doesn\u2019t contain a valid partition table\" Type:\u00a0cfdisk \/dev\/sdb<\/strong><\/p>\n Choose the following options:<\/p>\n New \u00a0\u2013> \u00a0Primary \u00a0\u2013> \u00a0Specify size in MB Now a physical volume has to be created.<\/p>\n Type:\u00a0pvcreate \/dev\/sdb1<\/strong><\/p>\n Create a volume group. The name \u201cData-Storage\" is an example. You can name it anyway you want. Consider a logical name, because this is the name that will be used in the proxmox web interface:<\/p>\n Type:\u00a0vgcreate Data-Storage \/dev\/sdb1<\/strong><\/p>\n Add the storage in ProxMox \u2013\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Click Add \u2013 LVM Group<\/p>\n o\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Type an ID Name for example data-storage<\/p>\n <\/p>\n o\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Base Storage: Existing Volume Groups<\/p>\n <\/p>\n o\u00a0 \u00a0 Volume Group: Data-Storage<\/p>\n <\/p>\n o\u00a0 \u00a0 Enabled: Checked
\nTo make a partion on the new drive type the following:<\/p>\n
